Electrical Engineering

UCE provides full electrical engineering design for high-rise, commercial, residential and mixed-use developments across Sydney and NSW — and, as accredited ASP Level 3 designers, we take your project all the way back to the electricity network, in-house.

What our electrical engineering covers

UCE delivers electrical engineering as a fully coordinated package for developers, builders and architects across Sydney and NSW:

  • Power distribution and main switchboards
  • High-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) design
  • Lighting design and lighting control
  • Communications, data and ICT infrastructure
  • Security, CCTV and access control
  • Standby and emergency power
  • Metering, sub-metering and energy management
  • Electric-vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure
  • Fire and life-safety electrical services
  • ASP Level 3 contestable network design

Electrical Engineering you can build from

Electrical services are the backbone of any modern building, and getting them right early protects both budget and program. UCE designs power, lighting, communications and security as one coordinated package, resolved against the mechanical, hydraulic and fire services in-house so clashes never reach site. Because we are also accredited ASP Level 3 designers, we can carry the same project from the building's main switchboard all the way back to the network — substations, HV and LV reticulation included — without handing the work to a separate provider.

Every package is independently peer-reviewed before it is issued, so your documentation stands up to authority review and tighter tender pricing. We value-engineer feasibility and buildability at concept stage — where the real savings are — and design to the National Construction Code (NCC) and the relevant Australian Standards throughout.

From feasibility and concept design through to construction documentation, tender support and as-built certification, UCE delivers electrical engineering as part of a single, coordinated building-services package. Developers, builders and architects across Sydney and NSW work with one accountable engineering team rather than juggling separate consultants for each discipline — which means fewer interfaces, fewer clashes on site, and a smoother path from design through to handover and occupation.

Why choose UCE for electrical engineering

Five disciplines under one roof — electrical, mechanical, fire, hydraulic and ASP Level 3 — means you brief once and we resolve clashes internally, not across a chain of consultants. As accredited ASP Level 3 designers we even take power to site in-house.

Electrical Engineering FAQs

What does an electrical engineer design for a building?

An electrical engineer designs the power distribution, switchboards, lighting, communications, security and standby-power systems for a building — plus metering, EV charging and life-safety electrical. UCE also provides HV/LV and ASP Level 3 network design in-house.

Do you provide ASP Level 3 network design with your electrical engineering?

Yes. UCE is an accredited ASP Level 3 designer, so substations, HV/LV reticulation and street lighting are designed by the same team that handles your building's electrical services — one point of accountability all the way to energisation.

What types of projects do you work on?

High-rise residential, commercial, mixed-use, industrial, education, health and retail developments for developers, builders and architects across Sydney and NSW.
